WE'VE ADDED TWO CLASSES FOR 2010 -- the first will be held in Lake Havasu City, AZ on the weekend of July 17th, 2010. October 24, 25 and 26, 2008 -- 3-DAY CLASS
at Robinson Ranch in Santa Clarita, CA, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. Breakfast and lunch, plus materials included in fees.

Thursday evenings beginning August 14, 2008 -- 10-WEEK CLASS at Robinson Ranch in Santa Clarita, CA, 6:00 - 8:00 pm each Thursday for 10 weeks (call or email us for exact dates). Refreshments and materials provided.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CLASSES...

Thank you for your interest in our Wedding Certification classes. These classes are intended for those wishing to be wedding planners -- or those wishing to learn more about planning their own weddings! We are blessed to be able to hold some of our classes at the beautiful Robinson Ranch in Santa Clarita, California.

The wedding industry is a HUGE business and this is one of the hottest careers available right now. You can expect to make anywhere from around $1,500 to $4,000 and up for a typical wedding in Southern California. Brides will want to know, however, if you are a CERTIFIED wedding planner -- if you've had classes or training in the field and if you are qualified to coordinate their wedding. This class will give you a Certification from The Wedding Resource Center, complete with manuals and class materials.

Due to an overwhelming response to hold a one-day class, we began holding one-day classes; however, it was a lot of information to cover in one or even two days. Therefore, our 2-day class has been extended to 3 days and our 8-week class has been extended to 10 weeks, so that we may cover all of the information and still have special guests and hands-on learning in the classes.

The class will cover the following topics in all aspects of wedding and event planning, with the emphasis on weddings:

- How to plan weddings and other events
- How to choose the best vendors / recommendations and referrals
- Location, rentals, invitations, gowns, wedding styles, florals and decor
- Wedding supplies and services, cakes, pastries, favors, transportation
- Photography, videography, officiants, linens, wedding party attire, attendants roles
- Pre and post-wedding parties, destination weddings, other events
- Etiquette, table setting, music and entertainment, catering , bars and menus
- Budgeting and contact management
- Wedding ceremony and reception timelines, rehearsals
- Trends, themes, colors, wedding styling, fabrics
- Customs, traditions, facts, stats, wedding history, cultural events
- The consultant's role and how to carry it out, meetings with brides
- Working with professionals, families, emergencies, emergency kits
- Small details and tricks of the trade
- Business concepts, marketing your business, where to find clients
- Advertising, networking, press releases, business plans, schedule of fees
- Contracts and agreements, how to negotiate your services, client interaction
- Seating arrangements and charts, floor plans, diagrams, layouts
- Much more!

This is a fun, hands-on class; you will also have a project that will need to be completed after you've taken the class. The class is $1,500 for the 3-day class ($1,800 for the 10-week class), which now also covers your material fee, certification and a binder / workbook. Additional books, manuals, wedding music CD, workbooks and more are available an an additional cost, if you choose those. Keep in mind that you are able to deduct these items on your taxes, as you intend to start a business and/or obtain training for a career in wedding planning. Please keep in mind that our class is limited to 10 students on a first-come, first-served basis (we have had an overwhelming response to our classes, so sign up early!). During the class, you will be assigned a project, which will be completed shortly after the class. You will then be invited to a graduation luncheon or tea, where you will receive your certificates.Once you begin your business, please remember that we are here to help with any questions you may have or suggestions to help you. You will have a mentor as you begin your first event or series of bride meetings (you're not just out there on your own after you take the class). We want you to be successful, so we're here to give you the support you need. In addition, there are internship opportunities if you'd like to help out with events and get some "hands-on" experience on the job!

At the request of some of our students, we are also now offering private one-on-one classes at a fee of $3,500 (total fee, including certification). This class will cover all of the elements that are covered in the regular classes and will take place over several weeks on the schedules of both instructor and student. We'll also tour locations, vendors and more. It also includes on-site assistance at your first event. Book your?private classes?early to ensure availability.

We hold many of our Southern California classes in Santa Clarita, CALIFORNIA at the beautiful Robinson Ranch location (LOOK FOR CLASSES ALSO COMING TO LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ). If you do not live in or near Santa Clarita, you may consider staying the weekend. We will be able to assist you in securing a hotel for your visit here in the beautiful Los Angeles County area of Santa Clarita if you are interested (you will need to pay for your own lodging, meals and transportation). Please call to obtain an itinerary of our class schedule. Remember that our class size is limited. If you will be attending our weekend classes, breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday is now included in your class fee. Weekend classes will be held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
