Welcome to our new "News & Blog" page! Check back often... we will keep our website updated on a weekly (or more) basis. Here's what's happening at The Wedding Resource Center and Cloud Nine Music. See photos of our events. Meet the people behind the scenes. See what Tracy's been up to!
By the way, we now have several companies under our umbrella. After 24 years with The Wedding Resource Center, Tracy has added business partner Steve Buffalo to create "Pure Imagination" -- a website for not only distinctive, upscale brides but for major events as well. Keep checking that website at www.ourpureimagination.com for more. We're still updating the site.
We've also launched the photography division as of 2008. Coming soon will be www.lovelyphotography.com -- but in the meantime, check out our photos in the "Photography" section of this website until the site is up and running.
We're also on the following link (although not completely updated yet)... http://scvweddings.blogspot.com/

WOW, so much has happened! I got married (I know...another wow!), moved to Arizona and started some new, exciting chapters in my life. At the moment, I'm moving (again!) -- this time to a bigger place, as the 3 of us (my new 12-year-old daughter and my new husband) need more room! Keep watching, as I will be posting photos, updating the website and telling you more about what's coming up for the Wedding Resource Center. As soon as we get the office set up (give us a couple of weeks), we will begin updating everything. Thanks for visiting -- stop back soon!!!

It's official! The book is done and we have thousands of copies in our hands! This book may or may not be sold in stores. At the moment, you will need to order a copy from us. The book is $14.95 and we will waive shipping and handling if you order a copy by May 1, 2009. Thank you to all who attended the Festival of Brides at the Beverly Hills Hotel. It was wonderful to meet you and we look forward to helping you create a beautiful, magical wedding. Please call us to set up a consultation! We also just finished attending (right after the Festival of Brides show) the Western Fairs Association Conference in Reno, NV. We had our "Living Statue" there as well (isn't she wonderful?) and met many people from all around the Western United States. We are excited about working with fairs on their grounds entertainment -- we know your patrons will be pleased too! Unfortunately I went to the emergency room in Reno and I have pneumonia. I'm getting ancy to get back to work, but I know I have to take it easy. That means I had to miss the Special Events Conference in San Diego this past week (bummer!). Check back as we will be speaking at the Calfest (California Festivals and Events) annual conference in Anaheim the 2nd week in February. Hope to see some of you there! PS: Thank you to the following people for their assistance with the Festival of Brides show: Kevin Henesey, Holly of Holly Flora, Judy of Enchanted Garden, Jayne of Undercover Linens, Cheryl of Madison Place and Karen of Molly Kate's. A special thank you also to Plush Lounge in San Diego for the use of their beautiful lounge furniture and illuminated cubes and bar! We're also getting ready for more classes in 2009 -- AND -- a Bridal Conference! Check back for more info to come in the next few days! DECEMBER, 2008 We are so excited to tell you that our book will be out by the end of 2008. The title is "Creating Successful Events...tips and ideas for event planning and marketing" - by Steve Buffalo and Tracy Thompson. If you would like a copy, please email or call us and let us know! We'd be happy to autograph it for you. SEPTEMBER, 2008 We have officially launched our photography division! We have been photographing weddings, bar mitzvahs, private events, holiday parties, families, babies and children. Check out the page on "photography" to find out more and hear about the specials we're currently running! AUGUST, 2008 We would like to personally thank Jayne and the entire staff at Robinson Ranch for so generously allowing us to use their beautiful event facility for our wedding planning classes. Our students love the location and will hopefully be able to refer brides to this unique spot. The staff is one of the best I've ever worked with and the location and food are top-notch. We highly recommend this event facility for your special day. Did we mention they have one of the best golf courses in the world? We are proud to announce our BRAND NEW classes in wedding planning! We've been holding classes for a few years now, and we are offering a whole new format for 2009. Inquire about our new classes! We've made them even more fun with more hands-on learning, more guest speakers and an easier payment plan. If you are interested in being a Certified Wedding Planner -- or you'd just like to learn how to plan your own wedding -- send us an email. Let us know your name, phone number and which class or classes you might be interested in attending. We are also partnered with the Wedding Planning Institute, and our instructor is a Certified Wedding Planner and a Certified Instructor through the Wedding Planning Institute. FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE VISIT OUR "CLASSES" PAGE. Please check back often to see what's new at The Wedding Resource Center. Happy planning!

September 22, 2006LOTS HAS HAPPENED BETWEEN THESE EVENTS...TRYING TO KEEP UP ON THE BLOG NOW! Last weekend was crazy! We did a wedding last Saturday for Jeni and Jerome...they were very nice (Jerome was a really cool guy). Ann and Rod Shreckengost had their 30th Anniversary Vow Renewal -- Scottish style on Sunday and we coordinated that, complete with costumes. What a fun event! What a GREAT couple. These two lovebirds were so much fun. We had a bagpiper, drummer and even a sword dancer. And I loved the "S" initial in the grass with bright yellow petals. Lady Ann did a GREAT job on the programs and favors and Lord Rod was really cool in his kilt. What a special moment too -- the binding of the hands with the Tartan cloth from Rod's clan (we later learned that this is from Ann's Clan -- hey, I like the sound of that!). And the big surprise? Rod bought Ann a new diamond ring and surprised her during the vows -- and if that wasn't enough, he whisked her away on a mini-honeymoon when the celebration was winding down. Can't wait to see all the pictures and video. They are very blessed to have each other, which they both also mentioned while sitting at their sweetheart table (in the middle of the horseshoe surrounded by friends and family at long tables). Medeival fare was served as guests looked lavish in their unique and fun costumes. Enchanted Garden did a fabulous job on the florals and we found thistle downtown, as the thistle Ann had ordered didn't come in time (we still made it work!!!). Mark of California Events and his staff also did a great job on the food. So yummy...and let's not forget the cake with the Tartan ribbon and the custom-made caketop Ann had made. Rod also wrote a song, sang it and put it on CD (it was played during the ceremony and also as part of the first dance. Wow! What talent!). Ann and I will definitely be staying in touch. They're a really neat Christian couple -- and very much still in love after 30 years! THIS weekend we are holding our last Los Angeles class of the year. We're excited about this fun, hands-on class. It will be a small group, so we'll be able to give individual attention and even do some fun things together (maybe visit some vendors)? Our last class will also soon be having their graduation ceremony and High Tea, complete with etiquette lessons from Karen of Molly Kate's Tea Room in the Antelope Valley. Jessica and Joe's wedding was great! We are so excited about these two. What a gracious bride. And Jessica's mom, Sheryl is a gem. Sheryl has done so much and is such a great lady. I knew they would love Sportsman's Lodge. It's a great place -- beautiful and with a great staff. It was a lovely day. December, 2006 We are gearing up for another busy year! Our ad comes out in January (Inside SCV) -- and we are hoping to hear from you about your upcoming plans! We'll write more soon... please check back!
